being SELFISH

OK, I admit it, today I tried, I tried very hard, to be selfish...and after my three year old woke me up before 6:30am, I thought I could get away with it...little did I know that my girls had other plans for Mama.
Picture with me if you will, it's almost 1pm & both girls are ready for their naps. First Caylee goes down & then Cami goes, or so she should have...Why is it that once your potty trained toddler gets into bed for nap time they decide they have to use the potty? So now both girls are down, or in bed at least. I pop my popcorn & put a "girlie" movie in. (Cam is @ school all day for football so it's my chance to watch a chick-flick.) Wait, before I can sit I need to pick-up the living room, now it's clear so let's vacuum all the hair & fur up too. Hold on, that load of laundry I started this morning is ready for the dryer. Both bathrooms are nearly out of toilet paper, I better refill those too. The dishes can't just sit in the washer all clean like that, I need to put 'em away! Phew, it's only 1:30pm, still plenty of time before the girls are up around 3pm or 3:30pm...WRONG!
I sit down with my pop-corn and hit play, to not bore you I'll sum this up. Over the course of the next 2 hours Cami has opens her door to say "Mama, Cami's awake" around 8 times. Dear sweet Caylee has cut her normally long afternoon nap to less then 45 minutes...I know I'm not explaining this very well but I must have hit "pause" & "play" over 15 times! By the time 3pm came around I was exhausted & needed a nap myself...I also kept thinking "I really need to BLOG about this" I needed to share, it cracks me up & I'm thankful that the Lord gives me the strength & sense of humor to get through days like these. Phil. 4:13 is my saving grace!

I'm sorry, I missed what was humorous and abnormal about the afternoon....
