It's a good thing

Let's just look at it that way shall we? I spoke with my nurse this afternoon & it seems that my Saturday blood draw came back with the highest numbers yet in regards to my glucose! So my next question was, "now what"? I have lots to share so if you'd like to know a few details feel free to ready on, otherwise, thanks for checking in on me & I appreciate your kind words and all prayers in this regard.

Wednesday afternoon I have a 2 hour group apt to get all details about what exactly Gestatinal Diabetes is. I will also receive a personalized meal plan & a device to test my blood sugar levels daily. (So much for being afraid of needles & pokes, I just got over it ;-) ) Then next Thursday morning I have another 1 hour apt with my nurse (I have been assigned one specific nurse who will follow my case until I have the baby) to see how it's going with my diet & if my levels are improving. My nurse, Judy, is very sweet and took time explaining everything to me and answering all my questions. After that 1 hour apt I will see my doctor (instead of my mid-wife) the same day. He and & I will discuss more in depth the ways the diabetes can effect my pregnancy, delivery date, the baby etc. It will be his decision if I have to start seeing him for my apts or if I can return to my mid-wife.

Please pray for me, I need to have discipline with my diet (something I am not good at normally), and simply that the Lord's will be done in our lives for this pregnancy. Please know I am not upset or discouraged, it is a blessing. It could of been worse news, right? Anyway, I'll write again after my group apt, thank you for checking in on me & my family.

TOTAL BLESSING - My Mom & Dad suprised us yesterday with a visit to our new home! My Dad had to go home this morning for work, but my Mom is staying with us until Thursday!!! Wow, what great timing to have my Mom here to help. Other than playing with Cami, letting me take more naps, & praying with me we will be working on curtains for the kids rooms & our kitchen. Not sure how much we'll get done, but it's a start!
